I was born, bred and raised on the border of where John Hughes suburban fantasies took place and one of North America's largest cities, Chicago. As a teenager, I took advantage of my geographical position to try and digest just as much culture as possible. Throughout these years, I found not only a love for music of the world, but for writing.

I was fortunate enough to start my musically-driven journalistic experiences at a fully-licensed FM radio station, WGBK. While taking on a multitude of tasks, my main position as a Music Director allowed me to program the entirety of what music would be played at the station, as well as getting my first taste of professional journalistic experience.

At the end of my tenure, I decided to pursue an undergraduate degree from the Missouri School of Journalism in order to hone in and further advance these skills I'd learned. As you'll see in my resume, I spent a majority of my time working at a diverse set of newsrooms — including Newsy, NPR-affiliate KBIA, NBC-affiliate KOMU and the Reynolds Journalism Institute — in order to gain a valuable set of experiences that's provided me with a keen ability to fit into any newsroom, no matter how big, small, old or new.
